Refund and payment policy

Effective date: September 19, 2026

We only charge for recommendations we actually issue. Here's exactly how payment, holds and refunds work.

How we bill: authorize first, charge after approval

When you sign up, we place a temporary authorization hold on your card for the evaluation fee: $129 for a new card or $99 for a renewal. An authorization is not a charge. It confirms your card is valid and reserves your appointment. Your bank may show it as a "pending" transaction.

We capture (charge) the held amount only after your physician approves and signs your recommendation. You'll receive a receipt by email at that time.

If you're not approved

If your physician determines a medical marijuana recommendation is not medically appropriate, you are not charged. We release the authorization hold the same day. Because banks control how quickly pending amounts disappear, it may take 3 to 7 business days (occasionally longer, depending on your bank) for the hold to drop off your statement.

Cancellations and rescheduling

  • Cancel or reschedule at least 2 hours before your appointment and we'll release the hold or carry it over to your new time.
  • If you miss your appointment without notice, we'll release the hold and you're welcome to rebook.
  • If your appointment is more than 7 days after you book, we may release your original hold and place a new one closer to your visit, because authorizations expire.
  • If we cancel or can't connect because of a problem on our end, we'll release the hold or rebook you with priority, your choice.

After you're charged

Once your recommendation is issued and payment is captured, the evaluation fee is generally non-refundable, including if you decide not to apply to OMMA or your recommendation expires unused after 30 days. We make exceptions in these cases:

  • Our error. If OMMA rejects your application because of an error on the recommendation we issued, we'll correct it at no cost or refund your fee in full.
  • Document problems. If OMMA denies your application for a non-medical reason, such as residency, identity or photo requirements, we'll help you correct and resubmit. If your recommendation has expired, we'll reissue it at no charge within 60 days of your original visit.
  • Duplicate or incorrect charges. Any billing error on our part is refunded in full.

Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5 to 7 business days.

State fees

The OMMA application fee is paid directly to the State of Oklahoma. We never collect it and can't refund it. Questions about state fees go to OMMA.
