Why we started this clinic
When Oklahoma's program opened in 2018, patients could get a recommendation from almost anyone with a license and a laptop. Many visits lasted two minutes and ended with no conversation about dosing, drug interactions, or when cannabis is the wrong choice. We started Oklahoma Cannabis Clinic to offer something better: a fast, affordable visit that is still real medicine.
Our physicians are licensed in Oklahoma and treat cannabis like any other therapy. They take a history, weigh benefits against risks, and document the reasoning behind every recommendation. When the answer is no, they say so and explain why.
How we care for patients
- Registered and compliant. Every recommending physician has completed OMMA-approved medical marijuana education and is registered with OMMA under SB 1066, with annual continuing education.
- Evidence-informed. We explain what research does and doesn't show for your condition, and give practical guidance on starting low, going slow and avoiding impairment.
- Whole-person. We ask about your other treatments and goals, and we encourage you to keep your primary care doctor informed.
- Private by design. Visits happen over HIPAA-compliant video and phone systems, and we never sell patient information. See our privacy policy.
- Accessible. Video and phone visits mean patients in rural counties, patients with limited mobility, and people who can't take time off work can all be seen without traveling.

What a visit looks like
You'll complete a short health questionnaire when you book. At your appointment, your physician confirms your identity with your Oklahoma ID, reviews your answers, and asks about your symptoms, history, medications and goals. Most visits take 10 to 15 minutes, longer if you have questions. If cannabis is appropriate, you'll receive your signed recommendation by secure email and a step-by-step guide to the OMMA application.
Our payment promise
We authorize your card at signup and charge it only if your physician approves your recommendation. We built it this way on purpose: our physicians should never feel pressure to approve someone just because they've paid, and you should never pay for a recommendation you didn't receive.
Our medical team
Every recommendation at Oklahoma Cannabis Clinic is issued by a physician who holds an active Oklahoma medical license and is registered with OMMA.

Verify our credentials
You don't have to take our word for it. You can confirm any physician's Oklahoma license through the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners, and check OMMA's Registered Physicians List on the OMMA website.

How we write and review our content
Patients make health and legal decisions based on what they read here, so we hold our content to clinical standards:
- Articles are written by our clinical team and reviewed by a licensed, OMMA-registered physician before publishing.
- Legal and fee information is checked against primary sources: Oklahoma statutes, OMMA publications and peer-reviewed research. We cite those sources on each page.
- Every page shows the date it was last reviewed. We re-check fees and laws at least quarterly and whenever the Legislature or OMMA makes a change.
- We don't accept payment from dispensaries or product brands for content, and we don't recommend specific businesses.
- We write in plain language and describe limitations in the evidence honestly.
Spot something out of date? Email care@oklahomacannabisclinic.com and we'll review it within two business days.
What we don't do
We are not a dispensary and don't sell cannabis. We are not part of OMMA and can't approve or speed up state applications. We don't provide emergency care; if you're having a medical emergency, call 911. If you're in crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
